Nesmuk JANUS - unmistakable by the black blade - is made of high-performance steel with a niobium content and refined with a high-quality diamond-like carbon coating (DLC) that optimizes the functional properties of the blade. The chef's knife with a 180 mm long and 4 mm thick blade, hollow ground on one side, is the all-rounder with which you can do around 80% of all cutting tasks. Indispensable and versatile as a "basic knife" in every kitchen.

Coating for maximum cutting comfort

DLC coatings were developed for the highest demands and are used, for example, in space travel and in Formula 1 engines. The amorphous carbon layer, which is only a few micrometers thick, is insensitive to acids, bases, extreme temperatures and similar aggressive effects. Nesmuk uses an extremely hard, deep black coating variant, which is characterized by low friction values and enormous scratch resistance.

The uncoated and polished cutting bevel guarantees the finest possible cut: The unique Nesmuk steel contains the rare element niobium - this ensures the very fine steel structure despite its inertia. At the same time, a higher mechanical strength is achieved, the blade becomes stronger and tougher. The result is extreme sharpness as well as increased service life and edge retention.
