Pfeffersack & Söhne's Urwaldpfeffer, also known as Voatsiperifery or Bourbon pepper, grows exclusively in the wild in the tropical forests of Madagascar and is only harvested in very small quantities by local smallholder initiatives. Its low annual harvest of just 1.5-2 tons per year make it an absolute rarity.
